CBF Youth Champions!

The California Junior Angler State Championship tournament was held on 28 May, 2017 at Russo’s Marina.  Although the bite was tough, every Angler brought at least one keeper to the scales and other Anglers were able to boat some very impressive Large Mouth Bass.  Five Junior Angler teams qualified 4 anglers each from San Diego to Yuba/Sutter to compete in this Championship on the California Delta. Jared deFremery representing Delta Teen Team in Oakley, CA, caught a giant 9.08 lb. Largemouth and brought in a total of 5 bass for 14.43 lbs. for the win!   Second Place Angler Manual Nevarez from Yuba Sutter Youth Fishing Club also caught a very impressive 7.26 lb. kicker fish and had two other keepers for a total of 11.90 lbs.  Miles Kaneko, also of local Delta Teen Team failed to boat a kicker fish and brought in a very impressive 5 fish limit for 11.42 lbs. Jackson Paluczak form San Diego also bested 10 lbs with 5 fish for 10.54 lbs.to land in 4th place. Michael Alaga from Watsonville, CA captured 5th place with 9.44 lbs for 5 solid keepers. Thanks out to the Junior Anglers Team Administrators, Parents, and other family members for traveling as needed to allow these kids to compete.  Also a shout out to volunteer Boaters and Vendors who volunteered their time and/or product so each competitor received a nice tackle pack at the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony....

DELTA TEEN TEAM OPEN Delta Teen Team of Oakley, CA is hosting a tournament on the California Delta for JUNIOR ANGLERS and STUDENT ANGLERS Where: Russo’s Marina, Bethel Island, CA Tournament Date: 9 April 2017 Check In: 5:00 am at Russo’s Blast off 7:00 am Weigh In: Starts at 1:00 pm Picnic Lunch for Boaters and Anglers after the weigh in Awards Ceremony to follow. All anglers must be current active Junior or Student Anglers with TBF/FLW membership. You must have your membership numbers. Anglers can compete as Junior Anglers (individual 5 fish limit) OR as Student Anglers (High School Teams, 5 fish limit per team) Registration Fee is $25 per angler includes launch fee, awards, raffle and lunch for anglers and boaters. You must register by 8:00 pm Thursday, 6 April to receive your free raffle tickets. Register as a team through your Club Administrator. California Junior Champion – Larry Snow III

Larry Snow, III Wins the California Bass Federation Junior Angler State Championship tournament held on 29 May, 2016 at Lake Skinner, California.  Larry had Big Fish of 3.90 lbs for a total of 7.20 lbs to win the event on Lake Skinner which has a 2 fish, 15″ minimum size limit.  Jackson Paluczak was in 2nd place with 6.60 lbs.  Braden Evans was in 3rd place with 6.10 lbs.  Eleven anglers competed in the State Championship event with each angler qualifying for the event through their respective Junior Angler Clubs. The top 3 finishers each won rods donated by Dobyns Rods.  Discount coupons for Dobyns rods were also handed out to competitors as well as tackle donated by local tackle shop Last Chance Tackle in Hemet, CA.  These were handed out at the picnic and awards ceremony following the the tournament.  Thanks to all who helped and donated time and/or product for the event.
