Conservation Report: Gary Bradford

• Bob Monsen’s local club was in the process of working with the National Guard for a conservation effort to take place at new Melones Lake.

Youth Report: Sal Gervasi

• The Junior State Championships were held in May 2005 at Cachuma.  We sent two kids on to Alabama.  They both received scholarship money and lots of “goodies” from FLW and their sponsors.
• The State also received $2000.00 for additional youth programs for the coming year.
• Currently we only have three youth clubs in the state.  We need to promote and get more youth clubs and involvement
• We are currently working on a casting program to start possibly in January 2007.  It will be “state based” only.  We needs to find sponsors for a “State Championship” and possibly get scholarship money for the kids who participate.
• All members present voted in favor or keeping a casting type program for the younger kids.  TBF will supply all the equipment.
• The Junior State Championship will be held again some time in March or May 2007.

Website: Brian Day

• New website is up and the tournament directors have been trained to enter their own information.
• We need a flyer for the clubs to be developed
• His goal is to get better communication out to the clubs to explain the benefits for the members.
• Newsletter – Let clubs know they can write article for our news letter.  Brian also wants AOY or top stick biographies as well as regional information.
• Online entry form and PayPal is now up and running. Brian will look into seeing if there can be lump sum deposits done to our checking account per each event instead of all of them being individually.  Per Gary Bradford, this process cannot make too much work for any individual.

Brian Carpenter:

• We have a booth at the ISE show at Cal Expo in Sacramento in January 2007.  The booth is no cost to the Federation.
• We need volunteers for the trout tank.  Board members and possibly get clubs involved.
• Have a casting event for the kids
• Big booth.  Room for both the kids area and another for the adults.  This wll help increase our membership and let people know what we are about.
• There should be roughly 3000 kids that will pass through and we need to have some type of product to give away to all the kids that stop by.

Gary Bradford:

• Our non-profit (501 c7) tax exempt has been completed.  Brian Strombom will process this for us as well as our taxes.
• We need to increase our club numbers and our membership. Tony Stoltz put together a DVD to give out to our clubs and other clubs to explain what the Federation, TBF and FLW are all about.  All of the forms to join are on our website now as well as the DVD.
• Ranger boat that we are giving away at the fish off cost us about $8000 (motor, electronics).  We got the boat by having “credit” from Ranger.  This is through our Federation members purchasing a new Ranger boat and taking advantage of the Federation perks.
• Evenrude and Yamaha will be starting a new program this year that will give us $400 for every time a Ranger is sold with one of these engines on it.
• MinnKota – Negotiations are still in the works.  Possibly 10 trolling motors per year.
• Lowrance – We need to abide by their policy.  We need to track our advertising for them in order to get our merchandise for our raffles and drawings.  They still offer a discount to all of our members as well.
• TBF/FLW relationship is strong.  The youth championship was awesome.  FLW spent over $300,000 to get life jackets, trophies, and more stuff for all of the kids that were there.  They were treated just like the pro’s are.
• Divisional events were amazing and the best in years.  TBF & FLW put on an awesome event.
• Banners – all tournament directors need to get their banner to Gary so that they can be updated with our new sponsor information before the new season.  All regions will have an updated banner.
• With the new format and change over to FLW, we will now call our fish off the “State Championship”.  All members present were in favor.

Archie Steele:

• The tournament committee; Tony Stoltz, Archie Steele and Larry Wilson, went over the rules and proposed changes to some of the rules. They were discussed and reworded by the entire board. Kelly Willis made a motion to accept the changes. Tony Stoltz seconded it.  All were in favor.  The changes will be written up and submitted for the upcoming year.

Tony Stoltz:

• Went over the information for the State Championship tournament that was being that weekend at Konocti Vista on Clear Lake.
• Friday is check in from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  The meeting and the pairing will begin right at 7:00 pm
• Saturday and Sunday the weigh in will be in 5 flights starting at 3:00 PM and every 15 minutes apart.  We will not be weighing a big fish for all anglers.
